"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." — Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

Trusting God in Uncertainty

There's a particular kind of courage required to take a step when you can't see where your foot will land. Yet that is precisely the life of faith, not the absence of doubt, but the decision to trust anyway.

Abraham left his homeland without knowing where he was going. Moses led a nation into the desert without a map. Mary said yes to a calling she couldn't fully comprehend. None of them had all the answers. What they had was a God who did.

We often mistake faith for certainty, as if believing harder means doubting less. But faith isn't the elimination of questions; it's the willingness to place your hand in God's and walk forward into the unknown. The light doesn't always illuminate the whole road. Sometimes it only shows the next step, and that is enough.

Whatever wilderness you find yourself in today, know that God is not absent from uncertain places. He is most often found there.

Prayer:

Lord, forgive me for the times I've waited for a guarantee before trusting You. Teach me to walk by faith and not by sight. When the road ahead is unclear, remind me that You have never lost Your way. Strengthen my heart to take the next step, even when I cannot see the one after it. I trust You not because I understand everything, but because I know You. Amen.

Reflection:

Where in your life are you waiting for certainty before you're willing to move in faith? What might God be calling you to trust Him with today, one step at a time?
