Scripture:
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
Proverbs 3:5
Trusting God is not something we do halfway; it requires our whole heart. It’s easy to say “I trust God” when life is uncertain, but true trust is proven in the waiting and the winning. Proverbs 3:5 reminds us that we are not called to lean on our understanding but to rely fully on the One who sees the full picture. God doesn’t want part-time trust. He desires complete surrender. The men and women God used mightily in Scripture, like Moses, Abraham, and Esther, had one thing in common: they gave God full control. Trusting God means acknowledging that His ways may not always make sense to us, but they are always perfect.

Sometimes, trusting God will go against logic. Moses faced Pharaoh multiple times with no immediate change. Yet, he kept returning because He trusted God’s word more than his own doubts. That’s the kind of trust God calls us into a faith that moves even when things don’t look like they’re working. So how do you build this kind of trust?
First, know God personally; you cannot trust a God you don’t know. Spend time in His Word and presence. Second, obey His instructions; trust grows when we take small steps of obedience. Third, surrender fully; take yourself out of the driver’s seat and let God lead. Commit everything to God and let Him lead.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to trust You fully, even when I don’t understand. Help me let go of control and lean into Your will, knowing that Your plans are good and Your ways are higher. Help me to have a deep sense of reverence for your ways and know that the plans you have for me are to give me the end I expect. Amen.
