Scripture:

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:18

Clear eyes

There are moments in your life when your heart senses something long before your eyes ever register it. A sudden urge to pray. A gentle nudge in your spirit. A peace that doesn’t make sense. A warning you can’t explain. These are glimpses of the supernatural, God’s world breaking into yours.

The Bible makes something very clear: there is more happening around you than what your natural eyes can see. Behind the noise of everyday life, God is moving, angels are working, and prayers are shifting atmospheres. You are not walking through an ordinary world; you are moving through a spiritual one.

In 2 Kings 6, Elisha’s servant panicked when he saw an army surrounding them. Fear filled his heart until God opened his eyes.

2 Kings 6:17 (NIV) “Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

The danger didn’t disappear. The enemy didn’t retreat. But suddenly, he saw from God’s perspective.

Sometimes, like Balaam, we become so distracted by our plans that we miss the angel standing right in front of us. Other times, like Stephen, we are so filled with the Spirit that heaven opens, even in the midst of hardship.

Your spiritual eyes are connected to your spiritual hunger. The more you seek, the more you see.

Prayer:

Father, open my eyes to see what You are doing around me. Remove every veil, every distraction, and every fear. Sharpen my discernment. Make me sensitive to Your voice, Your nudges, Your presence. Reveal the unseen realm to me, Your protection, Your guidance, Your glory. Help me walk not by sight, but by faith.

Reflection:

Where might God already be speaking in ways you’ve overlooked?

  1. A sudden thought that brings peace

  2. A scripture that won’t leave your mind
